Meet Steve Lockwood
Family members have been settled in Bonner County since the early 1970s. My wife Molly and I’ve lived in Bonner County for 19 years and love the people, communities, and natural beauty.
I’ve held appointed and elected offices since arriving because I value participating in my community. As a father of young sons, I was a Cubmaster and Boy Scout Leader, emphasizing exploring the outdoors. My career with AT&T and the Bell System taught me that good management saves money and means productive employees providing outstanding service.
With family and friends I enjoy outdoor activities including hiking and boating.
Why I am running for Bonner County Commissioner
Our county government must protect our quality of life. I will represent everyone, not just “my base” by protecting our air and water quality, public lands and property rights. Family wage jobs and housing can be substantially improved by the County leading a cooperative effort with our cities, business and civic groups, schools, and others. There has been expensive, unnecessary, and disruptive staff turnover at the county as a result of poor decisions by commissioners. Taxes pay for services. So, running the county efficiently serves everyone.
